Small Groups
We live to multiply disciples
Small Groups
At Messiah Bible Church, we deeply value biblical community and believe that authentic relationships flourish best in a smaller group setting. In our San Antonio Small Groups, we cultivate an environment where acceptance, accountability, care, love, vulnerability, prayer, commitment, and spiritual growth can truly thrive. These groups are where lasting friendships are formed, truth is learned, burdens are shared, and lives are transformed. This is how we disciple and nurture one another in Christ.

Our Mission
The Small Groups Ministry at Messiah Bible Church is dedicated to cultivating authentic community, spiritual growth, and intentional discipleship through Christ-centered relationships. By gathering regularly for fellowship, prayer, and the study of God’s Word, we encourage one another to grow in faith, serve with love, and live out the gospel in everyday life.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a small group?
A Small Group is a subset of the larger body of Christ. They are meant to provide an opportunity for relational discipleship (Hebrews 10:24–25) as well as give us an opportunity to bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2). Small groups in no way replace the primacy of the larger gathering of the body of Christ.
Why should I join a small group?
Being a part of a small group will help you deepen your relationship with God and help you to become more spiritually mature. Through a small group, you will also develop long-lasting friendships that will encourage you, strengthen you, and help you walk out your faith.
What happens in a small group?
Generally speaking, a small group will have a time of prayer, a discussion centered around scripture, a time for discussion, and a time for prayer requests.
Where do small groups meet?
Small groups meet in local neighborhoods across San Antonio, Texas and the surrounding areas. Some groups rotate homes, some go to the same house every week and others may meet at restaurants. You can usually find a group within 5-20 minutes from where you live.
