PLAN YOUR VISIT
A San Antonio Christian Church That Loves The Word
Sunday Service 9 & 11 AM
Everything you need to know!
Visiting a new church can be a bit overwhelming. But when visiting Messiah, you will feel right at home. Our church family is dedicated to bringing the whole Word of God to everyone: men, women, and children, as we worship the Lord together. We are located at 551 E Nakoma Dr, San Antonio, TX 78216. Our service times are Sunday at 9 AM or 11 AM and Wednesday at 7 PM.

Service Times
We have two Sunday morning services: 9 AM and 11 AM. On Sundays we gather to worship, preach the Bible, and provide childcare and children’s ministries. The first Sunday of every month, we have Communion. Our 11 AM service is streamed online.
We have one Wednesday evening service at 7 PM. Our mid-week service provides more verse-by-verse Bible teaching, as well as a Middle and High School youth meeting.
Location & Parking
Messiah Bible Church is located in the Northwest section of San Antonio at 551 E Nakoma Dr, San Antonio, TX 78216. Just North of the airport. The church is conveniently located off of 281. We have parking in front of the church entrance, with handicap spaces available for those who need them.

What to Expect
Messiah Bible Church offers contemporary worship, with a full band and worship leader/singers for both our Sunday and Wednesday services. We preach and teach from the Bible in a verse-by-verse style. In addition to our Lead Pastor, Tony Caffey, our elders occasionally preach, as do our pastoral interns and guest preachers. Sunday services last for 1 ½ hours, with Wednesday nights lasting 1 hour. Messiah does not adhere to a strict, formal dress code, though most attendees go by a “church casual” style.
Children’s Ministry
Messiah Kids provides teaching for children during our Sunday morning services. Children from infancy through 5th grade are welcome to participate in age-appropriate classes, Bible lessons, worship, and activities. We prioritize safety, so parents are required to register through our Church Center app. Only parents or guardians registered through the app will be able to drop off and pick up children to ensure the security of our classrooms. Volunteers are on hand at each service to assist parents in registering and dropping off children.

Biblical Teaching & Worship
Messiah Bible Church adheres to a verse-by-verse approach to preaching and teaching. That means our pastor works through a book of the Bible from start to finish. Teaching series can last anywhere from a few months to a year or more. All past sermons are available on the website. Our worship music style is contemporary, although we have incorporated many beloved hymns into our services. Our worship leader, Derek Flowers, has also written many worship songs as well as modern hymns.
Before You Arrive
When you first visit Messiah Bible Church, you will be greeted by one of our friendly Connection team members. We provide a bulletin with sermon notes, news, and updates. In our foyer, there is a Welcome Center desk, where you can learn about our church from one of our volunteers. We recommend you arrive about 10-15 minutes before service starts. One of our ushers can direct you and your family to children’s ministry and the worship center.

Get Connected
Every 4th Sunday of the month we have a Connections Meeting. After service, in our Flex Room, you can meet with some of our leaders and learn about our mission statement, vision, and core values. You can fill out a Connections card if you want to get plugged into one of our ministries or groups. Our church also has a Small Groups ministry, where we build close relationships with one another weekly in our homes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does your church collect tithes and offerings?
Our attendees can give to the church digitally via the Church Center app. Additionally, we have a donations box at the entrance of our sanctuary, with envelopes for convenient giving.
What is the dress code?
We do not have a strict, formal dress code. However, our attendees usually dress in “church casual” or “business casual.” Nobody will be turned away because of their dress, as long as it is modest.
What is your church’s stance on Holy Communion?
We believe Communion is a sacred service whereby we remember Christ’s sacrifice. The elements are a symbol of Christ’s body and blood. Guests are encouraged to participate in Communion (which is held the 1st Sunday of the month), as long as they have put their faith in Jesus Christ.
Does your facility provide adequate restrooms?
Yes, our restrooms are located directly behind our sanctuary, indicated with signage. We also offer a family restroom for parents and children. Children’s ministry has its own dedicated restrooms only accessible from our children’s ministry.
What security policies do you have in place?
I'm InterestedOur church takes the safety of our guests very seriously. We have a security team that protects the grounds for all services. We also have a surveillance system that monitors all major rooms and hallways. The doors to the building are locked after the start of services on Sunday, but late guests will be let in by an attendant.
